Day 1

Flexible hrs to suit
(classroom & pool)
Take a short quiz to ensure you have understood the theory section of the online course. Move to the swimming pool and beach to work through 10 rescue exercises including self-rescue, panicked diver, search patterns and inwater rescue breathing.

Day 2

08:00- 15:00
(day on the boat)
During the boat journey you’ll locate the emergency and safety equipment on board and practice setting up Oxygen equipment. You’ll practice and review each of the 10 rescue exercises again in an open water setting at the dive sites.

Day 3

08.00 – 15.30
(day on the boat)
Today you’ll have the chance again to practice any of the rescue exercises or skills you feel less sure of, before your final assessment – the successful completion of 2 Rescue Scenarios. Be prepared for anything!

How does eLearning work?

After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning® system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you check understanding of the presented information before moving on. This lets you go through the program efficiently and at your own pace. End-of-section exams verify your mastery of the entire topic and are automatically scored.

What else is required to complete the PADI Rescue Diver Course?

After completing the online portion of the PADI Rescue Diver Course you’ll visit your PADI Dive Center or Resort to complete your training. You’ll take a short eLearning Quick Review to confirm your understanding of safety-related material from the course. Then, you’ll complete the inwater training portion of the course. Your instructor will have you complete ten rescue exercises in open water, following initial skills practice in confined water. Finally, you participate in two Rescue Diver Scenarios in open water.

What does it cost?

The PADI Rescue Diver Course online is $130 (US) nonrefundable. The fee covers your knowledge development training and gives you unlimited access to an electronic version of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual (course textbook). Scubafish then charge a separate fee for completing your rescue training exercises and scenarios. The in-water Scubafish reduced price e-Rescue Diver course costs 14,900 THB and includes:

What does the PADI eRescue Diver Course cover?


The PADI Rescue Diver Course Online content covers a wide range of topics including, The Psychology of Rescue, Recognizing Diver Stress, Accident Management, Assisting Responsive and Unresponsive Divers at the Surface and Underwater, Equipment Problems, Oxygen Delivery Systems, Missing Diver Procedures, Responding to Diver Emergencies and Inwater Rescue Breathing.

Rescue training is one of the most challenging – sometimes demanding – and therefore most rewarding diving courses. The subject is serious but the training is fun.

The PADI eRescue Diver Course online provides the knowledge development portion you need. You develop the remaining skills by diving with a PADI Instructor at Scubafish.

How long do you have to complete the eLearning?

The eLearning course will be available for one year from the time of course registration. Though you must finish the online portion of the course within that time frame, you will have lifetime access to an online version of the PADI Open Water Diver manual.

How long will it take to complete the eLearning program?

The PADI Rescue Diver Course online will take approximately 10-12 hours to complete.

What documentation do I need?

Once you finish the eLearning portion of the course, Scubafish is notified that you have completed it and that you are ready for the practical phase of the program. At the end of the eLearning program, you should print out your eRecord and bring a copy of it with you to Scubafish.

What will I learn in the PADI e-Rescue Diver Course?

The PADI Rescue Diver Course consists of three segments:

eLearningWork through the Rescue Diver videos, audio and graphics on your computer at home. Complete the 5 knowledge reviews, and take a final exam to assess your understanding of subjects such as the psychology of rescue, being prepared for diver emergencies and accident management. Choose your hours!

PADI courses are designed to help you learn in the way that’s best for you. Courses combine visual, reading, writing and practical learning techniques to ensure you really understand each section.


Learn rescue techniques from simple self-rescue to the more complex missing diver search patterns and resuscitation of an unconscious diver at the surface through pool and beach exercises, demonstrations and practice.

You’ll have plenty of time to get comfortable with your equipment, apply common dive procedures, simulate potential problematic situations and scenarios and increase your confidence about rescue techniques in shallow water before progressing on to attempt these in the ocean.

Scuba Diver - Pool Training Session

Complete all 10 rescue exercises again in open water, learn to use your safety sausage (surface signaling device) and role-play 2 realistic Rescue Scenarios applying all you’ve learnt about dive accident and scene management to actual dive sites.

PADI Course Health Requirements

You must complete and sign the PADI Medical Statement, which includes a medical-history section, to enrol in PADI scuba training programs. A positive response to a question does not necessarily disqualify you from diving but indicates a pre-existing condition that may affect your safety while diving. Your doctor would be required to complete the PADI Medical Statement & Guidelines for Recreational Scuba Diver’s Physical Examination on your behalf in this instance. National Marine Park Fees

Please note that during High Season (November – May) everyone is required to pay 600 THB per day National Marine Park Fee when out at the Lanta Dive sites.

Since this is a seasonal charge, this is not included in the course price.
