Up to 8 hrs

Study interactive presentations online, using video, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you progress efficiently and at your own pace.


2 day Option

You will complete your 5 Adventure Dives; 2 compulsory dives plus 3 electives, over 2 days. On one of the days you will complete 3 adventure dives, where your Navigation dive is conducted at shallow depth during a short dive in the surface interval.


3 day Option

You will complete 6 dives over 3 days. If you haven’t dived in a while then your first dive will be a free scuba review to reacquaint you with dive equipment and procedures. You will then complete your 5 Adventure Dives; 2 compulsory dives plus 3 electives.

How does eLearning work?

After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning® system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.

What else is required?

Prior to certification as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, you must successfully complete at least five Adventure Dives. Two of these are mandatory; the Deep Adventure Dive and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive. The other three dives that you complete can be chosen from a wide range of Adventure Dives and the decision as to which dives you complete will be based on what is available at your dive location and what your PADI Instructor is able to offer.

What does it cost?

The PADI Advanced Open Water Course online is $130 (AUS) nonrefundable. The fee covers the knowledge development training as well as unlimited access to the entire PADI Adventures in Diving manual online. Scubafish then charge additional fees for the practical sessions of your training. The in-water Scubafish reduced price e-Advanced Diver course costs 13,500–[16,500 THB and includes:

What does the PADI e-Advanced Diver Course cover?


The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course online segment includes knowledge development for the two required topics; the Deep and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dives, along with five of the most popular elective dives. These include Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Wreck Diver, Boat Diver and Underwater Naturalist. Your PADI Adventures in Diving manual ebook has the knowledge development segments of the additional Adventure Dives, should you choose to pursue them.

Please note that if you wish to complete the PADI Enriched Air Diver (nitrox) or Digital Underwater Photographer Adventure Dives then you will need to complete the knowledge development for those two programs separately, either through the PADI Enriched Air Online or Digital Underwater Photography Online programs or by purchasing the student manuals from Scubafish.

How long do you have to complete the eLearning?

The eLearning course will be available for one year from the time of course registration. Though you must finish the online portion of the course within that time frame, you will have perpetual access to an online version of the PADI Adventures in Diving manual.

How long will it take to complete the eLearning program?

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course online will take approximately 8 hours to complete.

What documentation do I need?

Once you finish the eLearning portion of the course, your dive center is notified that you have completed it and that you are ready for the practical phase of the program. At the end of the eLearning program, you can print out your eRecord and bring a copy of it with you to Scubafish.
