What will I learn in the PADI Nitrox Diver Specialty Course?

This 1 day course consists of two main areas which include academic training, self-study sessions, and 2 open water nitrox dives:

Self-study: You’ll gain the knowledge, dive theory principles and basic information required to make your nitrox diving safe and fun. Watch the Nitrox dvd and learn about the additional planning, equipment considerations, safety aspects and benefits of diving on nitrox. Address the use of enriched air with 22% – 40% percent oxygen, with emphasis on enriched air (Nitrox) with 32% and 36% oxygen. Complete the knowledge review and take the final exam.

PADI courses are designed to help you learn in the way that’s best for you. Courses combine visual, reading, writing and practical learning techniques to ensure you really understand each section.

Prior to your 2 dives you’ll learn how to analyse your own tank of air using an Oxygen Analyser. You will then plan and set individual dive profiles using a dive computer based on the exact percentage of oxygen in your tank.
