PADI Rescue Diver Course

“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver Course.

The PADI Rescue Diver Course teaches you how to effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and give first aid. The PADI Rescue Diver learns to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well-being of other scuba divers.

Age 12+, 4 days

The PADI Rescue Course takes 4 days, and comprises 2 days in the classroom, pool and beach, to cover 5 Knowledge Reviews, rescue skills training and compass search pattern techniques, plus 2 further days out on the boat, to repeat the rescue exercises, search patterns and final rescue scenarios in open water. To enroll you must have proof of CPR and First Aid qualification dated within 2 years.

Age 10+, 2.5 days

The PADI eLearning course allows you to start your Rescue training online in most languages, so you can complete all the theory and final exam before you come on holiday saving you valuable holiday time. The part of the course you would take in Ko Lanta is reduced from 4 days to 2.5 days in the pool and on the boat. The on-line course is valid for 12 months, and has an additional cost of US$130 per person. It also means that you can spend less time in the classroom and more time on the beach, while you’re on holiday!

Age 12+, 4.5 – 5 days

This combination course option is ideal for divers who do not meet the CPR and First Aid requirement for taking the PADI Rescue Course. Your first day you’ll learn both Primary Care (CPR) how to respond to life-threatening emergencies, and Secondary Care (First Aid) covering injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. Then you’ll progress to the Rescue Diver Course, where you’ll apply these first aid techniques during your rescue training inwater.

Learn rescue-scene assessment and management, how to administer rescue breaths both in and out of the water, search & recovery techniques, procedures for surfacing and removing an unconscious diver from the water, correct ways to transport divers with suspected DCS and the best ways to assist local emergency services. You’ll also learn important self-rescue techniques and how to activate a signalling device (safety balloon).
