What will I learn in the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty Course?

This 1 day course consists of two main areas which include academic training, self-study sessions, and 2 Naturalist dives:

Self Study: You’ll learn about the major aquatic life groupings using the Linnaeus classification system, interactions such as symbiosis, commensalism, the role of aquatic plants, food chains and predator prey relationships and responsible interactions with aquatic life and will then complete the knowledge review.

PADI courses are designed to help you learn in the way that’s best for you. Courses combine visual, reading, writing and practical learning techniques to ensure you really understand each section.

During 2 Naturalist Dives you’ll locate and identify a number of examples of aquatic plant-life, invertebrates and vertebrates. You’ll also observe and identify a number of inter-relationship types (prey-predator, mutualism) and examples of human effects on the environment.
